CycleThe Suffolk Bicycle Riders Association is Long Island's largest cycling club. Organized in 1977, we are a club made up of all ages and cycling abilities. Active members enjoy riding together year round in a relaxed and friendly group atmosphere. Our rides range from short, easy trips for beginners, to moderately-paced tours with snack breaks, to fast, challenging rides for the more competitive minded. Volunteer club members organize group rides, leaving from various locations throughout Mid-Suffolk and the East End. Their routes provide us a wonderful variety of places to tour and explore.

SBRA promotes cycling of all abilities for health, fitness and fun. Come ride with SBRA.

During this stay-at-home time, I (Paul Miklean) tried using my bike on a trainer to get in my hour of exercise.  Unfortunately, after a few days of this, it started to get old.

On the SBRA Forums (Message Board), under Virtual Rides (NEW 2020), Tom Gorman (TomG), had listed Discord – Something to Think About,” suggesting getting on to his Discord channel to join him, while he too was training at home.  Discord, like Zoom, FaceTime and other similar chat apps, allows for voice, video and text interactions.

Check out the SBRA Club Ride with GPS route collection.
These are routes setup by experienced SBRA ride leaders.
Althought it is not safe to ride in a group, you can still go out and ride solo. Give it a try!

An Important Message from SBRA and Update

    May 1, 2020 Update

As we all know, there is still no known ending date to this horrible world wide pandemic. Due to the continued uncertainty, the ride calendar will remain closed for the month of May.

If you have not already noticed the NEW FORUM "Virtual Rides (NEW 2020)," you should take a look.
(Click here to learn what some SBRA members have been doing to ride together "Virtually")
