    SBRA ride leader guidlines

I received the new SBRA ride leader guidelines and requirements on my E mail. I do not understand the reasoning behind the new accident form. I live in GA now but I still visit family on Long Island and keep a road bike up north. I am still an SBRA member and I have led thousands of C and C+ SBRA rides over the years.

I read the article that stated that I can no longer lead an SBRA ride unless I attend the yearly SBRA Super Saturday workshop. There are a lot of Snow Birders in SBRA or at least there were when I was a more active member.

I believed that once a member or non member signed the Sign in Sheet it was a league waver that cleared the ride leader or SBRA from any lea gel responsibility. Now I read that the ride leader has to fill out a report if a member gets into an accident or gets injured on a SBRA bike ride.
For example If a ride leader allowed a minor to bike without a parent or guardian the rid leader could be head libel. A ride leader could also be head responsible if a rider did not where a helmet or sign the sign in sheet and was allowed to join the ride.

SBRA is a member of bicyclelongisland.org.
