See notes on Photo On Long Island there are over 600 food pantries serving our communities in need. There is a wonderful organization called Long Island Cares, the Harry Chapin Food Bank that supplies food and other support to these dedicated food pantries who are helping their neighbors so no child or adult has to go hungry. It is unfortunate and shocking at just how many people go hungry every single day right here on Long Island. I am a proud supporter of Long Island Cares by donating my time when they are in need of help. If you have a few hours you can give, please consider getting on the Long Island Cares volunteer list. They will email you when there is a need for volunteers throughout the year. If something fits your availability you just let them know (email them back) and they will provide the details. It can be that easy to help out. You can also make a monetary donation.
