Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Let's suit-up and get ready to take advantage of the Spring-like weather, with a run out to Riverhead for a bagel and/or coffee. The return will take us up through some of the farms, before we head back along the river and then to Grumman Boulevard.
They'll be plenty of road for some paceline fun, and some rolling terrain to keep things interesting.
Usual route to Manorville McDonalds. Note: This is a winter maintenance ride; therefore, those that wish to do a faster pace should consider a different ride. On Monday I covered for Bill. The ride was 32 miles at a 16mph pace with a final average of 15.8. Depending on weather of course, you can expect that we will repeat those numbers.
Fingers crossed that the weather is on our side for this ride! There will be quick breaks as needed, I'm not certain if the restrooms will be open at the Ecology Center prior to the ride, so please allow ample time to stop (if needed) prior to arriving at the starting location.
Cue sheets will be provided.
Please check back on this post for any changes/cancellations to this ride.
Shoreham South has a good single track for Begineers and those Intermediate riders that do not want to deal with technical challenges. With the strong winds we have had there may be some clearing work to be done as we ride. We'll not be pushing the pace and do waitups at the fire road crossings. No one gets left behind in the woods!
Park in the south-west corner of the school/library parking lot where there's a sign for the exercise track. We'll head south and do part of the trail on the yellow blaze.
No need to arrive 20 minutes early and cook in the car or freeze outside ... Please just be ready to ride at the posted start time! Running late? Call my cell # below and we'll wait a bit.
Check back to this posting a Life Happens and Things Change!
A ride out to Main Road Biscuit where the deer and the buffalo roam.Plan on a steady 20 – 21 mph (without the 28 mph surges.)Since Jim Drago will be resting at home with his whip, we can spend a few more minutes at Main Road Biscuit. The weather looks to be great.I hope to see you.
Posting just in case the rain holds off so please check the morning of the ride for any changes. Out to Manorville usual route. All stay together lower b/b+ pace.
It's off to Manorville. The average pace for the ride will be between 14.0 to 15.0 mph +/- depending on the roads, wind direction, rider ability or other conditions. Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -16.5 mph.) to produce the average. A rest/ food stop at McDonald’s or the bagel shop is on the schedule around mile 12. There are a few places along the route where leg stretches can be done for those who wish to do so. There is no obligation for anyone to do this; you can hang back with me.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 8:00am, if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call or text me anytime if you have questions about the ride
