Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This is a very scenic journey around the shoreline of Mastic (thank you Susan for the route). It is basically flat with a few gentle rollers. We will average between 11.5-12 mph. Bring your own snacks and beverages, there will be bathrooms at Smiths Point and a break at Osprey Park. I’m limiting the ride to 10 people, so text me at (631) 455-4251 your SBRA ID, name, cell and emergency #s prior to the ride and I’ll let you know if there is space for you. All Covid 19 guidance will be adhered to. Have a mask with you. Park at Wertheim, near the porta potties. Any changes will be posted by 7:00 am, Sunday morning.
Scenic ride along the Peconic Bay, and through areas with farms and vineyards. Stops available for deli food, ice cream, or both. Several bathroom stops will be made. This is a long ride, so plan your day accordingly. This ride has a limit of 12 riders. If you want to join us, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036, with your SBRA, emergency and cell numbers. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 07:00am. No texts after 10:00pm.
Sunday's at Netties. It's Lee's Birthday so come help celebrate! We hope to get there before the crowds for a quick treat. Masks required on my rides, to keep everyone safe!
We stay together. Please text to let me know you are coming.
Join me for this C+ ride, which will average 12.2 - 12.8. We will be riding to East Islip, where we will take our break at the Timber Point Golf Course. Snacks and bathrooms are available. No one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Due to possible weather issues, the exact route will be determined the morning of the ride (thus, no cue sheets).
Park on the south side of the train station.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
NOTE #1: You must be a club member to go on club rides.
NOTE #2: rides at this time are limited. You MUST text me with your name & SBRA Member Number if you want to ride. I will return the text: YES, you have a spot…or…NO, Ride Filled...CELL #: 631-523-2129
