Join me for this ride from Calverton, where we will ride on the back roads around Manorville, then go up toward Wildwood. We will take our break at the deli outside the park, where tables and a bathroom are available. This is a C+ ride, which will average 12.3 - 12.8, depending on the winds, etc. The exact route will be determined at the start, so there willnot be a cue sheet for this ride.
NOTE #1: You must be a club member to go on club rides.
NOTE #2: I am limiting the number of riders on my rides, so you MUST text me with your name & SBRA Member Number if you want to ride. I will return the text: YES, you have a spot…or…NO, Ride Filled...CELL #: 631-523-2129
Today's’ route to Great River will change up a bit towards the end of the ride, if the wind is in our favor; making this route pretty flat except for 2 overpasses. We will go the usual route heading south using the Connetquot Park bike bath. We’ll work our way down to Heckscher Park, do a loop where one can stretch the legs a bit if desired. The ride could end end up a mile or 2 over 30.
The average pace for the ride will be between 14.9 to 15.0 mph +/- depending on the roads, wind direction, rider ability, tailwinds, downhills, break-a-ways and other conditions. All of these conditions could change the final average one way or the other. Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -17 mph.) to produce the average.
IPlease DO NOT PARK in the Meat Farms parking lot. Use the west side of the bank if the east side is full. Thanks!
We’ll be making a rest stop around mile 19 at the deli/bakery. The route back will be determined by the wind direction. Good Stuff after the Ride.
Any cancellation due to weather or any other circumstance will be posted no later than 0715 if necessary. If you have question about the ride just text me at 631.484.3490. Eventually my phone and I will meet in a reasonable amount of time...
Join me for this scenic C- ride, cruising speed will be 10-11 depending on the group. No one gets dropped.
We will meander around some quiet back roads of East Islip, stop at the beach for a snack, depending on the weather. Then ride the Heckscher Park bike path where we will wind our way along the Great South Bay on our return leg to Timber Point Golf Course. There will be a bathroom break in Heckscher park. Please bring water, spare tube, and a snack if you wish.
Please always check back here for any changes before leaving for the ride
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start so we get rolling on time
I'm limiting the ride to 12 riders, Please text me with your Name, SBRA Member Number & Emergency Contact Number. I will return your text confirming your spot on the ride.

Come out for a ride to Lake Panamouka via Whiskey Road which will be flat and slightly rolling. The return route will head north through Wading River, Rocky Point and Sound Beach which will be mostly rolling with a couple of hills. Everyone will do their own pace on the hills and wait ups will occur with no one getting dropped. This will be good conditioning for any off-island rides planned.
Please bring plenty of water and snacks. We will stop at McD's near L.Panamouka for a bathroom stop but there will be no lunch stops. We will take a few brief rest/water stops as needed. If you were on my ride last w/e this ride will be similar with a couple more hills through Wading River and a little more distance.
Group can decide on an ice-cream treat stop at McNulty's on the way back, approximately 4-5 miles from the end.
Please text me if you plan to join the ride. All are welcome.
