NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Calverton is probably one of the best places to learn how to Mtn Bike BUT you should have a DEC Access/Parking Permit (read below if you don't have one) ... here's how to get one (You can easily get one on Jan 8:   https://www.sbraweb.org/node/6490 . 

If you don't get an access pass you might want to park at the Vet's Memorial Park lot BUT call me so we know to wait at the trail parking lot.

CHECK BACK before leaving for the ride. It will be a Begineer ride with a number of stop/waitups and we will wait for the slowest rider ... 

Text me at 631-988-6557 if you plan to ride with me and I will wait at the start if you're running late OTHERWISE if I don't hear from anyone, I may change the venue Tuesday morning at 7 AM.

This C+ ride of 18-23 miles will average 11.5-12.5mph. Bring snack/hydration as route depends on wind, tide, position of moon and ride leaders disposition. Newbies welcome and well taken care of and nobody gets left behind. Any cancellation will be by 8:30am. No need to text, email, phone, send message by carrier pidgeon or smoke signal me. Just show up 15-20 minutes before ride start to get your s**t together.
