Details (RL read field instructions carefully):
This ride is entirely on paved pathways.
There are a few road crossings that are well used by walkers and bicyclers so the cars know to look out for path users.
The path follows a stream leaving many opportunities in the beginning and end to stop and appreciate what the park has to offer.
The ride to Bethpage is generally uphill with minor ups and downs increasing in frequency the closer we get to Bethpage Park. No hills are difficult and it is perfectly allowable for anyone on this ride to walk their bike up any incline they would rather not bike up. I am a beginner rider and am passed all the time as I slowly progress up these slightly graded slopes. There is nothing hard about any of the inclines if you have the time to do them and we will allow you all the time you need.
At Bethpage Park we will stop for a self provided snack.
There are restrooms at the beginning and end of this ride in Massapequa Park and also at our stopping place in Bethpage Park.
