IMPORTANT: The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) has asked SBRA to assist them on the Babylon ride by having 10-12 members ride as Marshals. The Marshals, whose duties are limited to keeping people “on the ride” and “riding safely,” will be placed at the beginning, middle, and end (sweep) of the ride. (All emergency needs are being supplied by the WWP.)
    Jeff Meyer is the liaison
between SBRA and the WWP, and any individuals participating in the ride who would like to assist as Marshals should contact him directly at jeffski@optonline.net to be put on the list of volunteers.

In addition, the WWP is allowing SBRA to have a Safety/Membership Table at the end of each ride, in the area where the barbeque is held. After completing the ride members should stop by the SBRA Membership table and help introduce the club to non-members who want to know about SBRA.

    About the Soldier Ride:

The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Soldier Ride provides physical and mental rehabilitation for wounded warriors through cycling. The Soldier Ride also helps to raise public awareness and money for those who have been severely injured during the current war on terror. The Soldier Ride is the best adaptive cycling program for wounded veterans while raising funds above and beyond the program cost and as an organization we are deeply passionate about the program.

The Soldier Ride allows the general public to see firsthand the effect of recreational rehab sports and the work of WWP. It has literally saved the lives of warriors and inspired so many to greater things post-injury. All program participants are provided with the adaptive equipment and training they need to cycle, despite their injury. Nearly two hundred injured service members took to the open road through a Soldier Ride during FY 09.

    About Wounded Warrior Project:

Wounded Warrior Project is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors. WWP serves to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women, to help severely injured service members aid and assist each other and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.
