For those with even a mild interest in mountain biking, CLIMB's annual Fat Tire Festival will be on Saturday, September 18th at Cathedral Pines County Park....here is the link: http://www.climbonline.org/ftf/ It has been a really fun, well organized family oriented event in the past and I highly recommend you check it out, even if it's after your road ride that day. There are organized rides for all levels so bring your mountain bike if you want to explore the dark side-the CLIMB folks are some really great people.
