NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

Join me for my last Century of the SBRA season. Pls call or txt if you plan to come (347-922-3824).
Planning to make about 3 stops (Southold, Greenport, and at the end of the Shelter Is portion of the ride or possibly Greenport again when we get off the ferry) for hydration, restrooms and lunch but this may change as "nature" calls. Avg speed should be on the low to mid point of B+ range. I can't push it too hard because I'm still recovering from a slight strain.
Please pack proper hydration (at least 2 water bottles), food to eat along the way (Cliff Bars, trail mix, GU packs, etc), some $$ for lunch and a cell phone.
I will try to keep the group together and my intent is not to drop anyone; however, based on past experience, some riders may not be able to finish the full century for various reasons (muscle cramping, heat exhaustion, mechanical issues, etc.). In this case, please have a back-up plan to get yourself home (spouse, friend or Uber).
New RwGPS route posted below (NOFO / Shelter Is v2). I sort of reversed the route so we take advantage of the forecasted WNW wind in the morning.
Join me for this C+ ride, which will average 11.8 - 12.7; no one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Ride route will be determined by the road conditions; decision to be made the morning of the ride; no cue sheets. We will either head to Blue Point or to Oakdale for our break; there will be a bathroom stop.
The number of riders is limited, so if you want to ride, text me (631-523-2129) with your SBRA Member Number and Emergency Contact phone number. I will respond to your text and let you know if you have a spot on the ride. Once the ride is filled, I will change to post to indicate that.
This ride has morphed into the Wings Cafe ride. Come join us as we make our way around Manorville, on mostly quiet paths and roads. All and all, a neat 35 or so miles with some nice stretches of riding and the now special stop at the airport where we may see small planes or skydivers, and where we will stop for a bite at Wings Cafe.
We will adjust speed based upon wind
Please bring any snacks you may want as well as sufficient hydration and some cash if you want to get something at Wings. Most importantly bring an upbeat inquisitive attitude ready to explore and discover.
To join the ride or if you have questions, please text Bill Mastro at 917-921-5358. I usually send the final ride file to those that text me. Any updates or weather issues will be posted to the ride listing by 7:30 on the day of the ride.
Join me for this scenic C- ride, cruising speed will be 10-11 depending on the group. No one gets dropped.
We'll head from Sayville thru Bayport to Blue Point. We'll stop at Blue Point Library for a bathroom break then off to Atlantic Ave Deli for a snack. Please bring water, and a spare tube.
Please always check back here for any changes before leaving for the ride
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start so we get rolling on time.
