This is the East route to The Maples, with an extra 8 mile (Mill/Connecticut/Grumman/Line Rd) loop tacked on after The Maples. Bring adequate food & water, the rest stop is a parking lot with no services.

After leading 75 rides while the calendar was closed, I am delighted to be able to post this ride for this first day back for the ride calendar.
This will be a C ride, which will average 11.5 - 12. No one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc.. We will go around Calverton and Manorville, and take our break at Bean & Bagel.

There is a very pretty pocket park in Westhampton Beach, with shade, and spaced apart benches. Local ride through East Islip, Great River and Islip. Group will ride together but everyone must respect social distancing guidelines. I've raised the pace level to a B due to the forecast wind direction for the return trip and the temperature being more moderate. If it's necessary to finish with a B- pace I will have no problem slowing the ride down to keep together.

This will be my first time leading a ride soI will be asking that you text me(631)-747-3464 to let me know if you will be joining. I am limiting the ride to 6 but if there is another ride leader that would like to split the ride let me know so that we can allow for more riders. Tom wants to go to Nettie's-can you believe he's never been there?? Usual COVID rules apply. Text, email or reply here if you wish to come due to limited numbers allowed on rides. Park by RR tracks south of Wendy's. A few rollers at the start then mostly flat. The break at Nettie's is around mile 15. Yummies and bathroom available. Always check back here for any changes.

Join me for this easy and almost completely flat ride from Riverhead to Mattituck, where we will take a break at the Deli on Love Lane. We will return through Jamesport, up and around Riverhead, and end up at the start. There will be cue sheets.
The average pace will be 13.0 - 13.6, or so, depending on the weather and those in the group.
