Just spoke to Betty and got this info:
Jim has had a total hip replacement and is ALREADY out of bed and walking a little (understandably not too comfortably). Total recovery will be a few months but he will be transferred to St. Charles next week as they provide more extensive PT. He must be recovering from the physical p/o the operation as he is already dealing with the mental anguish of not living his normal daily life.
Hope he's feeling ALL better soon.
Just received this information:
"Jim broke his hip last evening on his way home from riding. A neighbor's friend was parked and opened her car door as he passed and knocked him down. He' s scheduled for surgery this afternoon. He is at St. Catherine's."
Read the last email announcing tonight's meeting which includes the link to Rolling Wheels Newsletter to see how important Jim has been to SBRA ... and not only the newsletter but a number of Jersey's and event tee shirts were designed by him.
I'm sure all of Jim's biking friends will be wishing him a fast recovery ....
More updates will be posted when available.
