Book Review: Feed Zone Portables by Biju Thomas & Allen Lim

I got the book Feed Zone Portables because I was looking for something better than the pre-packaged bars to bring along on rides. I was having issues with hydration and found the recipes in the book help with hydration (real food has much higher water content than bars) and taste great!

The information in the book is organized well. It begins with information on nutrition and hydration, followed by the recipes. The pictures are great and so far, the recipes I tried actually did look like the picture. Also, all the recipes have nutrition information at the bottom of the page.

If you are a good cook, the recipes are super easy to prepare and modify. If your cooking skills are dubious at best, fear not and just follow directions as stated. You will have great-tasting food to take with you or eat before or after a ride. The ingredients are all everyday staples like rice, eggs, bread, flour, fruit, vegetables. The authors provide a basic list of ingredients, condiments, and what equipment is needed to cook everything so it's easy to do. I have experience cooking so I found the recipes surprisingly easy and fun to make.

I really like the book and found it very helpful.
