Today, when we returned to SSM after Bill's Breakfast Club ride, I heard that one of our members, who had parked in one of our usual spots, had his car vandalized by someone who removed his catalytic converter. This type of theft is unfortunately not uncommon in parking lots in Long Island and it can take thiefs less than five minutes to cut it from under a car. The cost of a catalytic converter can be well over $1000.
My suggestion for parking at SSM, now that the Chase bank is no longer at that location (making our usual parking spot "too quiet") ... we should park toward the southern end of the parking lot where stores are active ... BUT please park away from the stores and at the end of row where the shoppers park. If we begin using parking spots used by shoppers we may face a problem similar to the one that we had in Eastport (thankfully resolved by Jeff and Bobby).
Just a suggestion ...
