After a less then expected turnout at the Bike Boat Bike 2016 event last June due to the rain, SBRA was left with more food and water at the end of the day then usual. Rather then discard and waste that food a volunteer offered to drop off the remaining food and water to Long Island Cares (the Harry Chapin Food Bank) in Hauppauge, with the hope that they would be able to use it. They accepted the food and it was used to help other Long Islander's in need through local food pantries associated with LIC.

Much to our delight, today we received a thank you note in an email from Long Island Cares.
Included in the email was a recognition of support certificate. A copy of this is attached for your review.
