Gordon Howard and a bunch of us just finished our MTB ride Saturday, when a NYS Forest Ranger stopped to warn us. They are planning to stop by more frequently to check vehicle dashboards for the DEC Seasonal Access Permits (parking permits). If you don’t have one or it’s not displayed on the dashboard. They will write you a ticket.

The DEC Seasonal Access Permits are free. Just go to http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/7815.html and follow their instructions.

Note: If one day you decide to ride this trail and you don’t have the permit. You can park about a 10th of a mile east on RT 25 in the Veterans Memorial Park and ride over to the trail head.
