We beat the snow but didn't need it to make the trail beautiful and CHALLANGING. About 80-90% snow covered with crunchy 1-3" of snow. About ten other tracks preceeded us. Ron and I left at 9 o'clock and were chased down (and passed) by new member Joey D. It's always good to be humbled by a better rider ... I thought that Ron and I were doing well until Joey went by on the first Black Diamond and popped over the early moguls like it was dry dirt ... we had to walk those three twisted sisters ... the rest we did okay. Joey gave us some hints on how to do them but we need practice! The cruchy snow tracks were okay until they reached 3" in depth then it was always a wrestling match. The end wide turning climbs before crossing bakc on the power lines were more of a challange then usual due to the banking curves. After these next day of snow I don't think this trail (with buried ice tracks) will be too much fun. Maybe GR?
