Bicycles Needed—and Offered
Patchogue Congregational Church is seeking donations of bicycles in good working order for Latino workers who need a bicycle to get to work, for others who, due to the recession, have had to sell their second car so that one partner can drive to work and the other can take a bike, for those who lack of a vehicle or a valid driver's license, and those who have a medical condition that precludes operation of a motor vehicle. No questions will be asked, no information gathered (including names), and no conditions for receipt of the bicycles will be placed upon those making a request. The church is purchasing a significant number of new bicycles and locks to give away, but also needs donations of used bicycles in good working condition. Volunteer bike mechanics and translators also would be welcome. The “Workers Without Wheels” bicycle give-away and free repair clinic will be
