    In Defense of Defensive Riding

While an ongoing dialogue is occurring on this website weighing safety vs. fun in group biking, a woman has been killed jogging down Chapman Blvd. in Manorville, a road used heavily on SBRA rides. She was struck Tuesday morning by a 17 year old driver. Regardless of how fast anyone rides, please do it defensively as you follow the rules of the road. Unfortunately you cannot trust that the car coming up behind you, or heading towards you will do the same.
With our excellent ride leaders, safety in numbers and our colorful jerseys, I do feel the SBRA provides me with the safest way to ride a bike.
